Places to dine in Las Vegas: LAGO by Julian Serrano | Naty Ashba

Las Vegas is one of the fewest cities  everybody should visit at least once. Or twice. It is one of the most entertaining and fun places in the world, for little ones and older ones. When I first visited 5 years ago, I never thought one was It was going to be my home, and even if it took me a couple years to accept it and adapt myself to the new life I chose, nowadays, I truly appreciate every aspect of my city. That’s why I decided I’m going to be an eternal tourist in Las Vegas! I will be visiting and reviewing, restaurants, events and casinos  so you can get a little bit of Vegas through my post and, who knows, maybe plan a trip to visit me “)

Last weekend, my husband and I enjoyed the city just like two new tourists that’s never been in Vegas before. Local residents don’t enjoy too much the chaos and loudness of the strip, especially during the day. If you don’t believe me, ask them. We decided to ditch our typical Saturday morning routine of having sensational breakfast in an off-the strip cozy restaurant near the house and I made reservation for lunch  at LAGO by Julian Serrano, at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino at around 1 pm. The traffic in the strip is pretty decent during the day, so it took us less than 20 minutes to get there. Surprisingly, the restaurant wasn’t as crowded as it is usually at night. I requested a table with a nice view and they gave us the best table with a first row view of the fountains of Bellagio and the water show that the hotel offers every 15 minutes during the weekends. I’ve been wanting to dine at LAGO for long time, but the thought of big crowds, traffic and drunk people around the casino always stopped me from reserving a table. The view was breathtaking! For a moment I felt like I was in Paris with my husband! Difference is, you can’t wear short sleeves in Europe in December! We still have almost 70 degrees every day.

Their speciality is seafood, my favorite dish! The whole environment truly reminded me of dining  by the Garda lake on Italy. Since I enjoy a lighert dish for lunch, I ordered a typical Italian minestrone and a “insalata di mare”. Dj ordered spicy octopus, and, I have to say, award winning Chef Julian Serrano did not disappoint us. I may have to come back to delight their decadent desserts! In my opinion, it is one of the best restaurants in Las Vegas.

If you’re looking for a modern yet stylish and casual restaurant to dine in Las Vegas, I personally recommend you LAGO. You will not be disappointed.
