Reasons Why You’re Tired All the Time- And What you can Do About It

Most people wouldn’t think that daytime tiredness is a huge deal, but a lot of the time, your sleepiness may be getting in the way of your everyday life. If this is the case with you then you have to make sure that you do everything you can to get to the root of the issue.

Diet

If you tend to skip meals, then there’s a high chance that you are not getting the calories you need on a day to day basis. You may find that you have long gaps between eating and that this causes your blood sugar to drop. All of this will decrease your energy and it can lead to you feeling sluggish too. Healthy snack options happen to include bananas, wholegrain crackers and even protein bars.

Vitamin Deficiency

Being tired all the time can be a sign that you have a vitamin deficiency. It may be that you have lower levels of Vitamin B-12, Vitamin D or even potassium. You should take note that a routine blood test can easily help you to identify any problems so keep that in mind. Your doctor may suggest that you take supplements if you do have some kind of deficiency but at the end of the day, you may be able to eat more of certain foods naturally. Liver, beef, and even clams may actually reverse your Vitamin B-12 deficiency. It’s also worth doing a parasite cleanse so you can see if this is the root of the issue.

Lack of Sleep

Late nights can take a huge toll on your energy levels. Most adults need around 7 hours of sleep every night. If you have the bad habit of staying up super late then you may well be putting yourself at risk when it comes to sleep deprivation. Lack of sleep can contribute to depression too, so keep that in mind. It’s vital that you practice better sleep habits if possible. You need to try and go to bed earlier, and you also need to take steps to try and improve your quality of sleep. Make the effort to sleep in a quiet and comfortable room, and also make the effort to try and avoid stimulating activities before bed too. This could include working out or even watching television.

Being Overweight

Did you know that being overweight can easily cause tiredness? The more weight you carry, the harder your body has to work in order to try and complete day to day tasks. This could include cleaning or even climbing stairs. If you want to help yourself here, then it would be wise for you to come up with a weight-loss plan. You need to start out with light activities, such as swimming or walking so that you can gradually increase the intensity. Eating more fresh fruit and vegetables, including whole grains will also help you out here.

Living a Sedentary Lifestyle

Physical activity is the ideal way for you to boost your energy levels. If you live a sedentary lifestyle then this can leave you feeling exhausted and sleepy.  Getting more active will help you here.
