Places to dine in Las Vegas: NORTH ITALIA

One of the things I miss the most from Italy is the full dining experience of delighting delicious handcrafted plates while catching up with friends for hours in the restaurants. I also miss the taste of authentic pasta handmade from scratch with the freshest ingredients in almost every trattoria around any city of the Country. Oh sweet Italy, I bring you in my heart!
I am very critical when it comes to Italian restaurants in the United States since Italy is well known for their inimitable cuisine and I lived and tasted it for over 12 years. But Last week, I had the opportunity to experience the authentic taste of Italy in Las Vegas, at NORTH ITALIA. Their remarkable chefs use the freshest ingredients to create from scratch pasta and pizza and many other dishes for all tastes. North Italia has brought an Italian corner to Vegas, and I couldn’t be happier. The restaurant is very modern and the details are well thought. The environment is perfect to bring your family for a delightful dinner or hang out with friends during the happy hour! I’m bringing the family this week to celebrate their arrival.

The dishes are wonderfully made, fresh and delicious. I usually stay away from certain foods that could affect my diet but I decided to anticipate the cheat day to have the chance to try all the sensational desserts the chef sent to our table. I started with a seasonal vegetable as an antipasto (appetizer) and for entree I ordered “diver scallops”. I usually don’t mix fish with cheese, no Italian does it, but the risotto was so delicate and the scallops so  perfectly made that for a night I forgot the Italian rule! Keep in mind the dishes are very abundant, I almost wished I had known so I could have left more space for the desserts!

Appetizer: Seasonal vegetables with white vinaigrette

My entree: Dives scallops with parmesan risotto

Almond & Mascarpone tart

Bombolini con crema

Hazelnut Torta

They have a great wine list, including my favorites, Rosso di Montalcino and Barolo.
After dinner I had an espresso and ordered some limoncello for Kari to try it. Nothing was missing, it was a perfect Italian dinner in great company. The restaurant just opened to the public, today! If you’re in Vegas and love Italian food, authentic Italian food, I highly recommend you to dine at North Italia, you may find me there sipping some sangria during the happy hour “)

The restaurant offers an outdoor bar and tables outside.

The bar has a great list of signature cocktails.

The kitchen was huge and super busy!
